Uxtaal, the Uranian influence

Celeste Korsholm

During a meditation in the summer of 1991, I was invited to a meeting of a group of twelve great Ascended Masters who represent the planets of our solar system on the Planetary Council. This was my first contact with these magnificent celestial beings. They asked me if I was ready to paint their portraits. My affirmative response led to four months of direct contact and intense communication with the members of the Planetary Council. During my morning meditations, they came individually to merge their energy fields with mine. They communicated both visual impressions and telepathic material. In this way, I was inspired to draw twelve portraits and write down a great deal of information about the Planetary Council's purpose and functions.

The Council is responsible for the fulfillment of the Divine Cosmic Plan to bring Light into this part of the universe. In order to earn a place on the Council, each member had to become a master of all the planets. They are very ancient, very powerful beings. They work for the harmonious ascension of the whole solar system into higher consciousness. They seek to bring Earth's mass consciousness into a global awareness of its equal partnership with its family of planets. (See bottom of text for a complete list of the twelve Planetary Council Members and a brief discussion of their functions.)

In May, 1993, I arrived home from a lecture tour to be presented with my next assignment. My guidance announced that I would be receiving information from the Planetary Council about the history of the solar system. Representatives from each planet would provide stories illustrating their unique evolutionary path and how they influenced life on Earth. The very next day, Jove appeared in my meditation and whisked me off to Jupiter. The Jupiterians gave me the first in the series of planetary histories. Next came Croesus, the Planetary Council member from Mars, with his "Tales From Mars." The third planetary history came from Uranus.

Little is known about Uranus on Earth. It is so small and so far away that it was not even discovered until 1781 by the English astronomer, William Herschel. Not much accurate data was available until Voyager 2 flew by in 1986. Uranus is a gaseous giant out beyond Saturn on the edge of the solar system. Its surface features are veiled by a pale, greenish-blue haze of methane ice crystals. At 2,870,000,000 km. from the sun, it is a very cold world. Circling around it are nine black, skinny rings made up of refrigerator-sized boulders of ice and five main satellites. The strangest thing about Uranus is its weirdly tipped rotation axis which is only 8 degrees from horizontal. It seems to roll around the sun on its side in its 84 year orbit. Astronomers can only speculate that this could have been caused by a primordial collision with a body the size of Earth. Astrologers have declared Uranus the ruler of Aquarius, technology, and scientific inventions. It is connected with rebellion, eccentricity, independence, and the circulatory system. Its positive traits are humanitarianism, original thinking, a strong will, and versatility. Its negative traits are eccentricity, rebelliousness, and perversity. Astrologically, Uranus means disruptive or sudden change. "Tales From Uranus" confirms the wisdom of this astrological information.

Our story begins with Uxtaal's tale. Uxtaal is one of Uranus' Rainbow Elders who relates the origin and development of the Planet's unique consciousness. Next, comes Sagamemnon's tale about the Sasquatch, Uranian descendants who evolved on Earth. He explains their service to earthmen during the last earth changes. The final tale is presented by Quetzalcoatl, the Planetary Council member from Uranus. He describes Uranian extraterrestrial interaction with early Central American tribesmen.

Historians tell us that Quetzalcoatl, meaning "Feathered Serpent," is one of the major gods of the Mexican pantheon. His origins are ancient and obscure. Like the British King Arthur, this legendary figure is a complex mixture of fact and fiction. Several different men carried the "Feathered Serpent" title over the centuries. Their lives and stories eventually blended into one fabulous composite.

Manley Hall writes that Quetzalcoatl came from Atlantis. Other historians say that he originated in the third century Toetihuacan civilization or with the Huaxtecs (AD 600-900) as an earth, water and wind god. He has many similarities to the Mayan god, Kuculcan. In the Toltec culture (AD 800-1100), Quetzalcoatl was the god of the morning and evening star. He came to Earth from heaven and founded a highly civilized kingdom in Mexico. He ruled for twenty years as a celibate priest/king until a dispute among the gods destroyed him.

Between the 14th and 16th centuries, the Toltecs were conquered, along with most of Mexico, by the Aztecs. The Aztecs, in turn, were conquered in 1521 by Spanish invaders led by Cortez. Most of their culture was destroyed. All that remains of Aztec beliefs and religious practices is a very biased and incomplete version written down by a Franciscan monk named Sahagun in a twelve volume codex. The Aztecs were a nomadic desert people who drove out the peaceful agrarian tribes. Although they accepted some of the more civilized tribes' iconography about Quetzalcoatl, they converted him into a blood-thirsty god who demanded human sacrifice. The Aztec Quetzalcoatl was the patron of priests, the inventor of the calendar and books, the protector of craftsmen, and the god of death and resurrection. Aztec mythology tells that Quetzalcoatl was forced to leave Mexico. Promising to return someday, he travelled to the Caribbean Sea. As he sailed off toward the sunrise, a flame came down from heaven to consume him. From the flame arose a magnificent phoenix which flew away in glory to heaven. His heart became the morning star. "Tales From Uranus" gives Quetzalcoatl's fascinating, first hand experience of these spectacular events in Mexican mythology.

"Tales From Uranus" may awaken your unique soul memories of your past among the Uranians. Possibly you, too, attended Uranus University and have integrated the lessons of the Sasquatch. Perhaps you shared in the evolutionary dramas of the Toltecs/Aztecs of early Mexico. Whatever your connection, I invite you to read the following fascinating "Tales From Uranus."

Greetings, I am Uxtaal. My story opens in an underground space station on Uranus. A meeting of the Elders of the different classes of Uranian society has been called. A decision must be made, and made quickly. The Solar Council has recently sent out a call for volunteers to assist in the development of Earth. The people of Uranus must decide if they want to participate.

This question brought into focus an ancient conflict among Uranians. Our earliest ancestors were refugees from wars in space. Forced to leave their home planet and pursued through time and space, they searched for a new place to live. A wretched remnant arrived in this sector of the galaxy in the early days of this solar system. Our forefathers were almost at the end of their resources. They could go no further. At this time, the system was still unstable. The sun was much hotter than it is now and the outer gaseous planets were still forming. When our ancestors discovered Uranus, an uncharted, unsettled planet out on the edge of the system, they decided to claim it as their own. Thus began the almost overwhelming task of establishing the remnants of our ancient, space faring culture and civilization on this new, desolate planet.

In order to escape further pursuit, our ancestors knew they needed to create an entirely new identity. Their first priority was to find a healthy, strong, well-adapted life form to use as a physical vehicle. They planned to sacrifice their old genetic structure and mutate into a new life form. Our ancestors searched Uranus for a suitable life form with which to interbreed. They discovered one that seemed to be especially promising. This was a race of strong, hairy humanoids who had successfully adapted to the environment. They looked like "Chewbacca," the large, furry character from "Star Wars" or the "Big Foot" of Earth's legends. This life form had developed an internal breathing mechanism that could function in both liquid and gaseous environments. They could breath in or out of the water. Their strong muscles allowed them to navigate freely in the heavier-than-air liquid conditions. A thick coat of hair protected them from extreme temperature changes. They seemed perfect for our ancestor's needs.

Our forefathers knew that by interfering with the natural evolution of a more primitive race, they were breaking universal law and taking on a heavy karmic burden. At the same time, their life-or-death situation necessitated immediate action. Once they selected a suitable life form, they tried to ask these beings for permission to mutate their genes to create a new species. Unfortunately, the gap between the two groups was too wide. The best the space people could do was to communicate with the primitive group's oversoul. This overlighting consciousness did accept the experimental project with the understanding that the ancestors would give back as much as they took from the primitive life form.

Accepting this responsibility, the ancestors focused all their remaining resources of high intelligence and advanced technology into the vast genetic engineering project. They selected the physical genes of the primitive humanoid form and the mental genes of the highly intelligent, highly evolved race. In spite of the space people's good intentions and responsible behavior, the primitive species was terrified by the whole process. They had to be captured, sedated, and given post-hypnotic suggestions to forget everything about their experiences aboard the space ships. It was a traumatic time for everyone involved. In this case, the use of force seemed to be justified by the long term benefits.

An entirely new race of Uranians was created. In time, they were able to stabilize the planet and build a highly technological civilization in the fourth dimension around Uranus. They retained the physical appearance of the primitive animal species with the mental acuity of the highly intelligent ancient race. The space people lost their unique past and the primitive species lost their unique future. Their life streams were forever intermingled.

Many years later, the decisions of our ancestors were still causing conflict in our society. On one side were those who condemned any genetic manipulation. In opposition were those who thought that the survival needs of our superior race justified our ancestor's action. Each faction had become entrenched in its own opinions. Over time, anger and recriminations widened the gap until it was almost impossible for us to work together. Major problems lay ahead if this schism was not healed.

I and a few friends from the Rainbow Class felt that serving on Earth would be a great opportunity to forge new, cross-party loyalties. Away from the entrenched factions of our home society, in a new, dangerous environment, we would be forced to put aside our differences and work together. Project Earth would also allow us to begin balancing our karma by giving service to a more primitive race. It would be a new beginning, a new chance. I, for one, was willing to try. For these reasons, I called the meeting of the Elders.

Just to get these Elders together in one room was a feat of diplomacy! We used both promises and threats to motivate attendance. In the end, I think each came to the meeting out of fear of losing some advantage over the others rather than any feelings of goodwill or generosity. Unfortunately, it was typical behavior for our society.

We Rainbowers suggested that Uranus sponsor a group to serve on Earth. We hoped to draw together all factions of society into this enterprise and create a new feeling of unity. We insisted that all contribute equally in time and energy. A competition for positions on the team was instituted. We hoped that class pride would motivate the selection of superior candidates for the landing team.

Because of our history, our race honors the intellect above all other attributes. Intelligence is attributed to genes inherited from our space faring ancestors. Stupidity is blamed on our animalistic ancestors. Those who can reason are rewarded with honors and physical comforts, the best of the best. Those who do not have mental acuity are delegated to lesser classes of service.

Our classes cut across hereditary and family connections. A child of the intellectuals who cannot think quickly is removed from his parents' privileged environment. He is raised in a class of workers. Conversely, a child of workers who shows intellectual superiority is brought up among the intellectuals. Even though we may marry freely across classes, in actual practice, there is little of this. The intellectuals do not want to risk the humiliation of seeing their children removed to some menial position. They want to keep their genes as pure as possible to insure superior offspring. When an intellectual marries a person of lesser rank, there is always the possibility of inferior children. Most do not want to take that chance. They marry among their own class.

Imagine the scene at the conference. All the leaders of all the classes of our society are present. Around the large conference table, the representatives of each class are attired in the vivid colors of their official robes, jewelry, and insignia. The red tones are worn by the military leaders. The creative class of artists and inventors are in green. The yellow regalia indicates the scientists. The oranges distinguish the practical craftsmen, the technicians who make things work. The purple robes are worn by the psychologists and the social scientists. The blues designate the healing class.

There were many combinations of colors among the assistants to the leaders, representing individual experience in different areas. The creative class, for instance, might spend time among the technicians in orange, applying their inventive minds to solving practical problems. After this training, they add orange touches to their green robes. At another time, they might work with the military, adding red to their clothing or with the scientific, adding yellow, etc. There were many creative types who dress like exotic peacocks, showing all their varied experiences.

Each color must be earned by individual merit. It cannot be inherited. The children of all classes wear neutral beige until their natural talents or interests can be determined. By age ten, the young can choose which class they want to join. With due ceremony they are received into a particular class with its identifying clothes. At first they are given a uniform in the neutral tones of the initiate. If they adapt happily and want to remain in that class, their uniforms become progressively clearer and deeper in color. By the time Uranians are ready for leadership, they wear rich jewel tones.

If a person changes his mind after some direct experience in one class, he can convert to another and begin again at the bottom wearing gray clothes. Some spend their lives in these gray uniforms, always the student, never the responsible, committed person. These "grays" were not invited to the conference. Our society did not exactly discriminate against the uncommitted, but it didn't reward them either. No parent wanted to see his child drift aimlessly from one group to another, never mastering anything. At the conference, the representatives of each class were all dressed in the intense colors of leadership.

For example, observe the strong, bright colors found in the portrait of Quetzalcoatl. The vibrant yellows, oranges and greens of his apparel indicate more to us than his features. They demonstrate that Quetzalcoatl mastered three classes, the scientific, the creative, and the practical.

There were a few, but only a few, who had the fortitude to subject themselves to a lifetime of beginning again at the bottom of each class in order to master all classes. It took great personal strength to humbly follow the path of the initiate over and over again until all disciplines were conquered. I, Uxtaal, was one of this small group called the Rainbow Class who wore all six colors. As you might imagine, we were all old people who had spent our entire lives in attaining our Rainbow status. Our small class was made up of strong willed, independent eccentrics. Many Rainbowers were probably too tired or cynical to participate in ambitious new projects. Yet if we failed to act to bring our world together, who would? We were the only ones who could relate to all aspects of society from direct experience. We were the only ones who could bring the others together. We Rainbowers might be too old and worn out to venture forth ourselves, but perhaps we could initiate action and motivate others to serve in Project Earth.

Every color was represented at the conference except white. Only the elite wear white. This class was very different in looks, behavior, and function from the rest of our society. They were a race apart from normal Uranians. Through all the centuries of enforced mutation, a few had managed to descend almost directly from the ancient, extraterrestrial race who landed on Uranus. They had only a trace of the hardier physical stock in their genetic makeup. They inherited the great intellectual capacity of our forefathers along with their almost useless bodies. Where most Uranians were broad, muscular and hairy, the elite were thin, physically weak, and hairless. They focused almost entirely on the higher dimensions of spirit, seldom returning to their frail bodies on Uranus. This small group learned to travel freely through dimensions in their light bodies. They mastered universal laws of time and space. They saw the futility of war, aggression or the fear of death. At the same time, they lost all interest in Uranian political intrigues or the everyday problems of the common people. My group of organizers wanted to attract this distant elite to our proposed project. If we could get them to join us, we would have a much greater chance of success.

It was all very challenging. Many times we came to an impasse in the negotiations. The only way to get beyond the frustration and discouragement of dogmatic opposition was to withdraw from the heat of the battle into higher vibrations of Spirit. We were forced to return to God for the wisdom and the will to change. In the end, Uranians did agree to be part of Project Earth. All classes, from the elite down to the neutrals, participated. A new adventure in space proved to be the best thing that ever happened to Uranians. It brought all factions of our society together. Ancient wounds were healed, and much karma was resolved. This positive change was truly the work of Spirit.

Greetings, I am Sagamemnon. My story begins when the Uranians first came to serve on Earth. Because of Uranian experience with genetic engineering, our group was given a part to play in the development of suitable life forms on Earth. Our assignment was to develop physical forms which could be used by spiritual beings to experience the third dimension. All the planets in the solar system were asked to contribute. We all brought the best of our life forms to populate this new Earth. For example, Jupiter brought its reptile forms. Neptune contributed mermaids and mermen. Venus brought unicorns and fairies. Uranians brought our Sasquatch life forms.

Ancient mythology contains descriptions of all kinds of fabulous beasts like the one-eyed Cyclops or the centaur, which is half man and half horse. Long ago, these strange creatures actually existed on Earth. Modern descendants of these early life forms, if they survive at all, are in very much modified forms. After millions of years, Jupiterian reptiles, the dinosaurs, evolved into species of birds. Unicorns mutated into the present day deer. Mermaids and fairies have withdrawn to Earth's etheric dimensions.

Many were the ideas tried by the extraterrestrials and then discarded as ineffective. We Uranians developed one magnificent humanoid form of tremendous size and strength that seemed to have great potential. Unfortunately, it lacked the mental and spiritual consciousness to rule itself. It began to force smaller beings to do its erratic will, violently destroying any who objected. It ravaged the land with no sense of responsibility or self discipline. The Old Testament story in Genesis 6, verse 4, "There were giants in the earth in those days," refers to this early life form. During Lemurian times, these huge, overbearing beasts raged out of control. They forced whole societies to withdraw into remote underground caves. The later Atlanteans also struggled to control descendants of this gigantic race. Like our Uranian ancestors, the Atlanteans were tempted to misuse the power of their superior technology to destroy or manipulate these creatures. Present day scientists face the same challenges and temptations as technology expands faster than consciousness.

Some of this rapacious energy is still present within the Earth's auric field. It has not all been adjusted or eliminated. Once created, this energy had to be allowed to work out its own destiny. It still continues to this day, although in a much modified state. Since our Uranian group contributed to the creation of these giants, we continue to be responsible for their guidance and development.

Our Uranian connection with Earth stretched over aeons. Periodically, the home planet contributed new personnel and material. As one group completed its Earth assignment, it ascended into higher dimensions. Some of our creations evolved into glorious beings who have realized their highest potential. Every time the Earth went through a 26,000 year cosmic cycle, some completed and some new recruits arrived. I, Sagamemnon, am an example of Uranian thought forms who began as a giant and went on to become an ascended master. I was able to transform our group's painful evolutionary lessons into positive results.

Uranians participated in Earth's evolution through several cycles of earth changes. At the end of the last cycle, I and my people were responsible for the preparation of safe places within the Earth. As conditions worsened on the surface, we took thousands of people, animals, and plants into our underground cities. Memories of this inner earth civilization have come down through the ages in myths and legends. For example, the Hopi legends tell of a remnant of their people being taken into the inner earth to be cared for by the ant people during the destruction of the last world. The race consciousness still contains memories of these actual events.

There were many challenges involved in such a vast undertaking. Centuries of confined isolation and close quarters exaggerated all weaknesses and tested all strengths. Most of our Uranian volunteers were imprisoned for the duration. As they interacted over such a long period with the more primitive races in their care, they gradually lost most of their higher faculties. They tended to deteriorate to the lowest common denominator of the group.

Some of the leaders, like myself, were capable of raising our vibrations to higher frequencies. We could escape the underground cities and travel through time, space, and dimensions in our etheric light bodies. Each time I returned from space, I found conditions worsening. Like Moses returning from Mt. Sinai with the Ten Commandments to find his followers fearfully worshiping the golden calf, I always seemed to reappear in the midst of major upheavals. It took all my love, compassion and higher understanding to deal with this turmoil.

After hundreds of years within the underground cities, the surface gradually became habitable. We began to send out small scouting parties much as Noah sent out birds after the flood. At first, they came back saying that conditions were not yet safe. Later, the scouting parties stopped returning. They ventured further and further away from the exits. They preferred to risk dangers on the surface rather than remain one more moment in the caves.

Eventually, all the survivors spread out into all the Northern Hemisphere. They began repopulating Russia, China, and North America. They intermarried with more animalistic survivors. As generation passed into generation, they gradually forgot who they were and where they came from. They lost most of their ancient wisdom in the struggle to survive. One skill that they did remember was how to become invisible. It helped them avoid detection and capture many times. The rare sightings of "Sasquatch," "Big Foot" or "Yeti" in remote areas around the North Pole are the much mutated descendants of these early Uranians.

Now that we approach the end of another cycle with its accompanying earth changes, the Uranians are once more preparing the inner earth cities to receive refugees from the surface. The dust sheets are being removed, the shelves restocked and the machines turned back on to bring light and air to these prehistoric underground cities. Once again, the remnant of those who ventured out to intermingle with other races is being recalled. Their old memories are being triggered. Inexplicable longings will draw them to the North. When violent weather conditions develop, they will somehow remember the secret entrances to the underground cities through waterfalls, caves or tunnels. The Sasquatch descendants will lead many to the refuges prepared within the Earth. Through this continued service, Uranians work to balance their ancient karma.

I, Quetzalcoatl, came from Uranus to Earth for the first time at the beginning of this millennium. I was young, idealistic and enthusiastic. I had great plans for making major changes in the old way of doing things. At first, I was not the leader. I had to obey orders, listen and learn. Finally, a major crisis arose that the older leadership could not handle. They were ready to listen to my plan. I was sure my ideas were superior and would work where others had failed. After all, I had mastered three classes, the practical craftsman/technician, (orange), the scientific, (yellow), and the creative, (green). I thought I knew a way for extraterrestrials to relate to natives without getting so entangled in their physical lives that we created karmic debts. Instead of controlling primitive tribes directly, I wanted to try a subtler, more indirect method.

My plan was to travel astrally among the tribes in search of a solitary, human contact. I could get this person's attention by appearing suddenly out of nowhere. I would calm his fears and begin to make friends. Little by little I could teach him. At first, I would emphasize practical skills that could improve the daily life of the tribe. Later, I could communicate higher philosophical and spiritual concepts. Eventually, I would encourage my contact to share his new knowledge with his tribe in his own words in his own time. A great deal of useful information could be passed from extraterrestrial to Earthman in this non-invasive way. Although this method would take more time and patience than landing en masse in space ships and forcing our alien culture upon the natives, it had other advantages. It would allow the contact to make his own choices and would not interfere with his free will.

My plan gradually gained the support and co-operation of the other Uranian volunteers. We broke up into small groups to locate and then train isolated individuals. We found contacts from many different tribes all over Mexico and Central America. I had to find my own contact as well as oversee the work of the other groups. Since I realized that we must keep open minds and be flexible in creating this new technique, I allowed my followers much freedom. Out in the bush, each crew had to make its own decisions and survive as best it could. They were on their own except for the regular conferences back at the base.

We Uranians had to produce a lot of "miracles" and "magic" to get the natives' attention. We had to decide when to guide and when to silently withdraw. It was a learning process for all of us. Although we made a lot of mistakes, sometimes there were "happy accidents" that turned out to be wonderfully effective. When the different crews got together to compare notes, they were amazed at the creative solutions of their compatriots. Sometimes these ideas could be applied elsewhere. Sometimes they worked only once.

All this took time and patience. Knowing when to assist and when to withdraw required a delicate balance. We learned that we couldn't go too fast or push our contacts too hard. We must allow the new ideas and skills to sink in slowly. When a contact could not handle our higher frequencies, the pressure and stress could destroy him physically and emotionally. It was very discouraging to lose a contact to madness. Sometimes a contact misused his new power to oppress his own people. In some cases, the contact was killed before he could make any changes. Sometimes our magic worked too well and our contacts could not get over their awe of us. Sadly, we were forced to end the relationship when we were worshiped. The original number of contacts soon shrank to less than ten who could sustain on-going communication with Uranian space brothers.

Our dilemmas with the Mexican natives might be compared to the problems of modern contacts between extraterrestrials and humans. Abuses and misunderstandings between higher dimensional and third dimensional beings are rampant. For example, many channels claim they are in direct, constant contact with the Ashtar Command, yet much of their channelled information is judgmental and fear-based. Is it the fault of the Ashtar Command or the people receiving the information? Is the solution to break off all contact? Or is the answer to continue working with the most promising channels, trusting that some good will result?. We Uranians went through a similar predicament long ago.

My contact was in Mexico. For many years, I worked with a quiet, solitary young man named Copac. The young man was very shy and gentle. After the first period of shock wore off, he seemed to accept my ideas eagerly. We had many long talks. He was intelligent and willing to learn. Resistance arose when I tried to encourage Copac to share his new ideas with his tribe. He could not imagine how he, a mere boy, could ever influence his tribe to change. I, of course, continually encouraged him. I tried to prepare Copac for the challenges ahead.

Over the years, I instructed Copac in many things. I taught that there was only one Creative Force with both male and female aspects. This Force was pleased by wisdom and creativity, not by human sacrifice. My whole philosophy was based on the power of reason to bring peaceful change for the better. I encouraged the arts of peace, not war. All this was quite a challenge for Copac's primitive, survival-of-the-fittest consciousness to absorb.

As Copac grew into maturity, he gained wisdom beyond his years. Try as he might, he could not hide the changes in his personality. His tribe observed him suspiciously. It was inevitable that they would ask questions. "What did Copac do out in the jungle all alone?" they wondered. "Why had he changed so much? What did he know that others did not know?"

When Copac was about 20 years old, his father and all the other tribal leaders were killed. Suddenly, the tribe was forced to turn to Copac for leadership. Shy as he was, he had to stand up and take charge. He was compelled to draw on his training with us for solutions. It was a golden opportunity for the Uranians to have a direct influence on the native consciousness. All our self restraint and patient effort was finally paying off!

Over the next 20 years, Copac grew to be a strong, wise leader. Copac established laws and fair dealings based upon justice for all, not rule by personal whim. He delegated power, rewarded loyalty and encouraged education. Slowly, he was able to make changes in the tribe's behavior. He turned their aggressive traits into positive, creative activities. With his guidance, they became artisans, making a superior type of pottery with a very hard glaze. The tribe began to prosper by trading with their neighbors instead of fighting with them. Surrounding tribes soon learned of the prosperity of Copac's tribe. They came to trade and stayed to learn. Eventually, other tribes accepted our basic Uranian teachings and began to apply them at home. Copac's fame and influence spread.

Once his people were prosperous, Copac could begin eliminating the bloody ritual sacrifices of his people. This was one thing upon which we Uranians insisted. We taught that God was not pleased by the shedding of blood. He was pleased by faith and good works. God wanted his people to live in peace with one another, contributing their goods to help others rather than sacrificing them to appease angry gods.

This profound change was the most difficult of all to bring about. We knew it must be done slowly by demonstrating that there was a better way. We did not recommend that Copac eliminate these rituals all at once. Little by little, certain rituals could be replaced by others. The changes were gradually accepted as the younger generation grew up and the older generation died off. As long as the tribe prospered without making sacrifices, the people forgot their fears about placating the gods. And so it was that Copac ruled wisely and his people prospered.

As usual in the cycles of nature, a time of plenty was followed by a time of drought, pestilence, and crop failure. Copac's reforms in religious practice were the first to be questioned. With families dying and crops rotting in the fields, the people were afraid. They thought that they were not pleasing the gods. The people began returning to their old ways. As conditions continued to worsen, the people looked desperately for a scapegoat to blame for their misery. They began to pressure the priests to give blood sacrifices to the gods. With the return of fear came the return of barbarism.

Copac, learning of this uprising, came to us, his Uranian space brothers, for help. Suddenly, all our long years of work were at risk. Something must be done. Some "miracle" must be performed in order to salvage all that we had achieved. I and my Uranian crew came together in a crisis meeting. We sent urgent invitations to the project leaders all over Mexico and Central America as well as notifying the nearby space stations. We needed all the help we could muster.

At the conference, two main solutions were suggested. Some proposed force and some proposed withdrawal. I did not want to do either of these. I thanked my compatriots for their ideas and sent them away. I went into seclusion to pray and consult with God. I spoke directly to my Source in simple words of the heart. Then I waited, not moving, eating or sleeping until I received my answer.

Meanwhile, the situation worsened. Riots broke out. Neighboring tribes harassed the people, using Copac's troubles to their own advantage. The people looked to Copac for answers and leadership. He, in turn, came to me for solutions. Since I was silent, waiting for God to speak, Copac also must wait.

As I prayed, an idea began to form in my mind. At first it was as vague as mist. Different pictures flashed through my mind of stars, comets, and lights in the sky. They seemed disconnected, their meaning obscure. Gradually, a plan began to solidify out of this flow of images. It was simple, yet brilliant. I knew it came from God. I knew it would work.

So I rose up from my vigil and began to instruct Copac in all he must do. I told him to gather all the people together on the beach around the bay in the dark of the moon. They must fast and pray and prepare with solemn ceremony to receive the word of God. Copac did as I directed. He called all the people together.

They built huge campfires on the beach and began their rituals and dances. All through one day, one night, and the second day and night, still the people came. The doubters, the believers, the strong, the weak, all gathered. Tension filled the air. The diviners and the priests foretold spectacular events. Prophets and soothsayers predicted doom. Some looked for the end of the world. Some hoped for a miracle. Rumors circulated wildly. Still people came out of the jungle onto the great crescent beach around the bay.

On the third night, there was no moon. The stars stretched across the sky in the great arch of the Milky Way. There were no clouds, no wind. An immense wave of anticipation swept through the people as Copac arose to speak. He was dressed in his richest robes, jewels, shells and feathers. His headdress towered over the heads of all the crowd as he stepped into the gentle surf. His arms were outstretched. He gazed fixedly up at the night sky. He seemed to be in a trance. The people quieted. A deep silence fell. Even the ordinary night sounds of birds and insects seemed to fade. It was as if the whole world held its breath, waiting. One moment, two, the tension was unbearable. Something must happen!

Copac stood like a statue, his head thrown back, his arms raised. He scanned the skies, searching for a sign. "Speak to us, great God! Give us a sign!" he prayed. Suddenly, Copac shouted in a great booming voice that carried across the waters to the farthest reach of the crowd. "Behold!"

An outcry arose from the people as one after another saw a bright star streak across the Milky Way. It seemed as if an immense, fiery serpent plunged down upon them. A long, glowing tail switched back and forth behind the blazing head. Like dragon's eyes. brilliant lights flashed red and gold. They lit up the whole beach brighter than midday. A great hot wind swept before it, pushing the water up on the beach. The trees bent low. The people dropped to the ground in awe. Some ran screaming into the jungle. Copac remained rigid as before.

The great serpent descended in a zigzag pattern until it stopped suddenly about sixty feet above the water. It seemed to fill the sky. The people quaked in dread. Many collapsed in shock and fear. How terrible was the coming of this starry serpent!

A beam of light shot down to spotlight Copac standing in the shallow water. Those around him drew back, afraid of being burned by the serpent's gaze. Copac roused himself from trance. His arms dropped to his sides. He blinked, and then smiled. He sensed the presence of Quetzalcoatl, his friend and teacher. He knew that this was the answer to all his prayers for help.

An opening appeared in the serpent's belly. People squinting into the light could barely make out the silhouette of a tall, powerful, human shape. I, Quetzalcoatl, stood before them. I had deliberately dressed in all my most regal Uranian finery. Long quetzal bird feathers sprang from my headdress. Shorter ones jutted out from my cape. Brilliant jewels glittered from head to toe. In that moment, I truly became the Feathered Serpent.

I spoke in the language of the people. All could hear and understand as I declared in a booming voice, "I am Quetzalcoatl. This is my beloved son who pleases me in all his ways. Listen to my son when he tells you that I am not pleased by human sacrifice. I am pleased by wisdom, good works and faith. Do as he says. I am with him always. Someday I will return! Farewell!"

With these few words, I stepped back into the ship. The beam of light was retracted. The door closed. The ship flew straight up, then shot off at a right angle into space. Once more it seemed to become the eye of the serpent in the Milky Way. Then it vanished among the stars. In the peoples' minds I remained forever Quetzalcoatl, the Feathered Serpent. Every time they looked at the Milky Way, they were reminded of the god who came from heaven to earth to speak to them. None could forget that I promised to return!

An ironic conclusion to this story came when Cortez led 600 Spanish soldiers ashore at Veracruz on March 4, 1519. The landing fell on the Aztec 1 Reed Day, Quetzalcoatl's birthday. Montezuma, the Aztec king, was well versed in the ancient legends. He believed that Cortez was the divinely ordained, long promised return of Quetzalcoatl. Without resistance, Montezuma welcomed what seemed inevitable. He allowed Cortez to enter the capital city and conquer his entire kingdom with only a small force. Unknowingly, the Spanish did fulfill Quetzalcoatl's commitment to end human sacrifice in Mexico.

This Uranian version of Mexican mythology explains many of the confusing legends about Quetzalcoatl. A long chain of cause and effect began on Uranus when the ancient refugees from wars in space began genetic engineering. By interfering with the natural evolution of this more primitive life form, they intruded upon their free will. Someday they would have to give back service in order to balance this karma. The Uranians chose to come to Earth to serve its fledgling races with the wisdom gained through painful experience. Indeed, they have served Earth long and well. The Sasquatch prepared the inner earth cities and sheltered many through the last cycle of earth changes. Quetzalcoatl led the Uranian project in Mexico to interact with the more primitive tribes in a very patient, non-invasive way. He developed a method to avoid the pitfalls of earlier projects by guiding, but not interfering with natives' free will. They came, they communicated the higher teachings, then they left, promising to return some day.

The Uranians return now to assist us once again during the turmoil of change at the end of another cosmic cycle. Uranus and Earth have shared many experiences and learned much together. We are a family of planets. Our history and destiny are one. Together we ascend back to the Light from which we came.
